ive been fornicatin--drinkin--smokin--for the last 35 years.
no--gave up smokin 15 years ago.
i was in conversation a few weeks back with a jw i have known for at least four decades.
most of it was catching up on family stuff, he has loads of kids, some have married and produced sprogs since i left.
all news to me.. i demolished a couple of his fatuous arguments, and then he decided to scuttle away, throwing this over his shoulder as he went :.

has the new june 2015 watchtower finally done away with 7000 year creative days?
the box the bible and proven scientific facts.
genesis chapter 1 uses the term day to set out the stages in the preparation of the earth for life in all its diverse forms.
nope
bible says 7 days--it means--7 days. god can do anything. including making a man out of dirt--a woman from a rib-----and a snake talk.
you either believe the bible---or you dont.
i didn't find this particularly surprising given jw indoctrination is all about how evil the non-believers are (and how deserving they are to be destroyed during the big a) and how the wbts is absolutely right and everyone else is absolutely wrong - so it is not a big jump to islamic fanaticism.
(originally posted march, 2014)anyone who has awakened to ttatt and has conscientiously left the organization--especially a once-prominent, highly-regarded, studious believer from a prominent multi-generational tribe of jws-- after decades of devout, high-profile "serve-us," who continues to put in an annual appearance at the memorial thoroughly subverts and undermines, by this one act, any hope s/he may entertain that his/her departure will stir family or former friends to question the whole watchtower bamboozle.
by this one concession s/he assigns him-/herself by every single jw to their handy and dimissive purgatory: the "spiritually-weak.".
nothing blasts a louder, clearer, and more deliberate message to the jws who personally knew you and those familiar with your jw bona fides that you are not merely "not making the meetings," "inactive," or "spiritually-weak," but that there is a conscientious reason you have rejected the entire watchtower society life than choosing to forego what they know you once believed to be jehovah's must-attend, one-and-only, holy/sacred event of the year for his people, the lord's evening meal.. you hand them the very justification they so relish to self-righteously label you as a "submarine witness" deserving of jehovah's, and more importantly, their judgement.

i last went to the last supper in 1980--and that was to shut her up.
she divorced me a year later lol.
guys,.
don't tell the elders, buuuuut, i sorta kinda maybe never contributed money....ever..... i always thought - hey, i give a lot of my time and energy to the org, so that's how i contribute.
i was also pretty stinkin poor for most of my life and didn't really have the money to give.. anyone else like me?.
when i took over managing my elderly JW father's financials--i found he was donating £100 a month ( UK pounds )---plus a one-off £5000 towards a kingdumb hall purchase ( since sold --no refund lol )
not anymore.
has anyone ever read this book ???
jehovah is mentioned at the very bottom supposedly he is a reptilian god (demon) that resides on jupiter ?
wth.
i was just invited.
i thanked my old elder friend and he left.
(i'm not going).
when is it ?
what is it ?
so, this happened a while ago - but i never posted on it.
during a co visit, he gave a talk relating to jesus ransom (i think) and the "debt" that was owed by sin, etc.... he kept saying "debt" and he kept pronouncing the "b".
so it sounded like "deb-t".
back in my day--late 60's--our congregation servant--(as we called them )--was a lovely old chap--real heart of gold. but he couldnt pronounce words to save his life.
his bible knowlege wasnt too hot either---such as " Paul's letter to Matthew"
but we loved him nontheless---despite his smoking habit and driving without a licence.
are getting tattoos a disfellowshipping offense?
i know several jw's that have them but i always thought they were totally taboo.
what do you guys know about this?
maybe it depends on the type of tattoo picture--and if its visible
